SEMI PERMANENT MAKE UP FAQs
What is semi permanent make up?
Semi permanent make up uses a tattoo needle to implant pigment into the dermal layers of the skin. The effect is to enhance or create a cosmetic appearance in the same way make up does.
Is the process surgical?
No, semi permanent make up is a non-surgical procedure. It uses a tattoo needle gun but unlike traditional tattoos the needles do not penetrate the skin as deeply. The needles touch the dermal layers of the skin which are shallow.
Will it hurt?
With the help of topical anaesthetics there is minimal discomfort. Some clients feel nothing more than a prickly sensation.
How long will it last?
Semi permanent make up lasts between 1 and 3 years. It depends on your skin, age, exposure to UV rays / sun and sunbeds, and if you smoke. We recommend a top up treatment every 12 months to maintain the look.
How long does it take?
Dependent on your requirements we usually allow 1.5 hours. This will depend on your comfort, the desired results (thicker liner etc) and if it is a correction or new treatment.
Is it safe?
Yes! We meet all the hygiene standards and use the latest equipment to reduce the risks of cross infection.
The pigments are non-allergenic, dermatologically safe and meet strict European medical standards.
Is there any down time?
No! The area may be slightly swollen and the pigment may look slightly darker immediately after application. Within 5-7 days this will reduce.
