Guidance for Lip Treatments

We want to ensure the best possible service and outcome from your treatment. To do so please read our customer guidance for all lip treatment appointments.

  • The procedure should involve very minimal pinpoint bleeding. To minimize bleeding do not drink alcohol or caffeine 12 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Do not take any blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Ibuprofen, etc (unless prescribed by a doctor for medical reasons) one week before your appointment

  • Avoid fake tanning and excessive sun exposure 2 weeks before and following the treatment

  • We advise against having any lip filler / dermal filler treatments 3 weeks prior to the treatment and for 4 weeks after

  • Healing can take up to 7 days and we advise you do not schedule any important events in this timeframe.

  • Your booking includes a touch-up session 6 weeks after the initial treatment.

  • We advise you do not eat immediately after your lip treatment, try to abstain for up to 3 hours. Therefore it is important that you eat before the treatment.

  • For best results, it is advised to prepare your lips prior to treatment. To do so we suggest a light lip scrub, available from pharmacies or using sugar. Perform the scrub once a day for three days before the treatment.

  •  Use moisturizer frequently on your lips in the days prior to the procedure to maintain a smooth texture.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: If you have a history of cold sores you'll need to start taking an anti-viral prescription (valacyclovir, denavir, penciclovir, valtrex, acyclovir, zovirax) at least a week BEFORE your proposed procedure.

  • Cold sore outbreaks are often triggered by stress or trauma to the lips and skin. Therefore if you are a carrier, lip blush will likely cause an outbreak if you do not take an anti-viral medication prior. Your appointment WILL be canceled if you have had a history of cold sores and do not follow this instruction.
